 A pretty original circa 1920s rise and fall  ceramic weighted light with  frilled glass shade ( also original ) . These lights were often used after the introduction of electricity to large  houses  over the scullery sink for the maids . They are exceptionally usefull in small cottage  kitchens as the  length of flex to allow the shade to rise and fall can be adjusted to suit , they also work in small country house cloakrooms.
